Artist Bio

Mutoriah is a Nairobi-based singer, songwriter and producer working at the soft, blurred edge of soul, alté and Afro-pop. With a warm, conversational baritone and lo-fi guitar-led arrangements, he writes about money, love, faith and small Nairobi rituals in Sheng, Swahili and English. Since the release of singles like "βeta", "We Don't Need Money To Be Rich", "Nakuombea" and the collab "Day One" with Ayrosh, Mutoriah has built a quietly devoted following across Kenya and the East African diaspora. He performs regularly at Alchemist Bar, The Mist, Unseen Nairobi and Thursday Nights Live, and has shared stages with Karun, Bensoul, Xenia Manasseh and Maandy. The live show is intimate by design — a tight 4-piece band built around acoustic guitar, keys, bass and brushed drums, scaling up to a 7-piece with horns and BVs for festival sets.
